17 January 2012 – I photographed Enter Shikari play in Kingston tonight thanks to the super cool team over at Banquet Records.

The guys at Banquet work really hard to put on great shows and they all really just seem to get what music is about … so if you take them and add together an amazing band like Enter Shikari you know that something mental is going to go down … it did!

I honestly love Enter Shikari and enjoy all their recorded stuff (a lot) but nothing compares to the intensity and attitude of their live show. It’s passionate, tight, crazy, loud, bright and pretty much like one of the biggest slaps in the face you will ever get. Everyone always talks about having your face melted off … these guys could really do that.

I’ve been to a lot of shows over the years but Enter Shikari in a small-ish venue like this releasing a new album was one of my highlights since I started doing this. I love that they spend money on making the shows as best as they can be and I love that they play each show as if it is the first one they have ever played and that they have something to prove …

… with a live set like this and a great new album I don’t think they have anything to prove but I’ll enjoy it without a doubt.

Make sure to check out their new album, any of their older stuff and DEFINITELY try and see them live when they play near you next … seriously, even travel for it.

The lights were blinding and fast which made it interesting to shoot. I was also trying to avoid getting kicked in the head too much and for the first time ever at a show all my lenses kept steaming up on the outer glass (full of sweat). These are a few of my favourites.

16 January 2012 – Tonight I photographed Dear Reader playing at The Social which I had been waiting a while for.

I’ve worked with Cheri a few times before including shooting the cover for the recently released album, Idealistic Animals, and I have always been a fan of her work.

It’s been a long while since I got to see her perform live and tonight she, along with some great friends, played a great show bringing the new tracks to the stage along with some of the older favourites.

I love Dear Reader and you should definitely look them up if you haven’t.

16 December 2011 – Tonight I photographed New Model Army playing at The Electric Brixton.

This was my first time at this venue since it re-opened but my 6th time working with this awesome band. I’ve said it before but I am quite a bit fan of their stuff and it’s always a great time for me to work with them and watch them do there thing.

As always they played a great set and the location was perfect. The only thing is that the lighting for their live set is always quite dark which really suits their music but really makes it hard to photograph.

Justin Sullivan is an amazing front man, musician and story-teller. These are a few of my favourites from their set.

05 December 2011 – I always enjoy working with my friends in After The Ordeal so I was excited to shoot some new portraits with them a few weeks back.

The guys have undergone a slight line-up change by becoming a four-piece (previous five-piece) and changing up vocal duties and it’s honestly working out well for them.

I’ve heard quite a bit of the new material they have been working on and it definitely gets me excited. They are working hard to create an album that is different and really pushing themselves which I like.

They have just released their single for “We Divide” so check it out.

Very cool bunch of guys and always great to spend time with. Like I’ve said before, I have a feeling that these guys are going to go far because they really want this. The new material shows that they’re finding their sound … it’s exciting.

29 November 2011 – Tonight I also photographed The King Blues at The Forum Hertfordshire which was a great time as always.

It has been a while since the major line-up changes and it’s more and more evident that it was all for the better. The band has always been great but have gone from being a “fun” band to a band with cause that are tight together as a unit and I honestly love seeing them live … tonight is no different.

They will be working on their new album soon and it’s sure to smash all our faces in. I honestly cannot wait.

Set tonight as always was great although I find this venue to just be missing something. I have no idea what it is but I always feel it when I shoot here. I think that the stage roof is just too high or something and it just feels like the atmosphere is a bit flash or something … it could just be personal though.

29 November 2011 – I always enjoy catching up with the We Are The Ocean boys and I definitely enjoy a live WATO show so tonight was great shooting photos of their set at The Forum Hertfordshire.

They played the smaller room, as part of the Jaegermeister party, which was rad for a change because their venues just keep getting bigger and bigger and it was great to see them get intimate again. As the first song started Dan jumped over the railing and sang the entire set (besides the last track) in the crowd … getting smashed around like mad.

Always an absolute pleasure. I love hearing the guys plans and knowing that they are progressing bit by bit each time I see them because they definitely deserve it all.

Support them, they’re definitely some of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet … and their music is super cool.

25 November 2011 – Tonight I photographed the guys from The Heist playing a great set at 229.

The show was put together by the team at Feedme Music who always know how to put together a great party.

I don’t really understand why more bands don’t play at this venue because the size, stage, sound and lighting are always spot on when I’ve been there.

The band cracked it and were as tight as I imagined them to be. Their normal drummer, Aaron, couldn’t make it so they had Travis fill in for him and this worked perfectly.

19 November 2011 – I photographed the guys from A Day To Remember playing at the The Forum tonight.

It was the first time that I had seen them live but also crazily the first time I had heard any of their stuff.

Lighting was mental to work with but the set was tight and they honestly gave it balls. Would be amazing seeing them tour with Rise Against in the States.

16 November 2011 – Tonight I photographed Death Cab For Cutie playing at the Hammersmith Apollo.

This was weirdly the first time I had been to this venue … some other show always seems to be on the same day. I was really excited though to see these guys again because I am a huge fan of their stuff and the last time at Brixton Academy 4 years back was great.

The set was over 2 hours tonight and the guys sounded amazing. Honestly, if it wasn’t for The Revival Tour this would be my favourite show of this year.

Definitely look up Death Cab For Cutie if you don’t know them yet.

09 November 2011 – Rise Against are one of my favourite bands and they are amazing live so I’m always super excited when I get to document anything they do.

This was the second time that I would be shooting pics of the guys playing at the O2 Academy in Brixton and this time it was packed to the brim.

As always the show was great and the guys always come across as playing their hearts out with lyrics full of information on what is going on in the world, politics, activism and hope.

These are a few images that I shot of the night. Last time I worked with them I shot the images as black and white’s and felt that they worked really well with the band so I did the same thing again.
