25 April 2011 – Tonight I photographed City And Colour playing at Royal Albert Hall.

Dallas Green is a flippen legend and I love shooting photographs with him because he is one of the nicest people I have met before. Seeing him play in a venue with so much history as this one is amazing and it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

The show was perfect and beautiful to witness. Shooting it was a bit weird purely because everyone was sitting down and I felt bad for getting in anyone’s way so I kept it short and then took my seat to enjoy.

They have a new album called Little Hell coming out soon so make sure to get your hands on it.

11 November 2010 – Tonight I shot pics of Alexisonfire destroying (in a great way) the HMV Forum.

Last time I shot the guys playing was at a really small intimate show which was way overcrowded but one of the funnest experiences ever. I’ve been really looking forward to seeing them again since that time and tonight I remembered why. Three amazing and completely different vocalists mixed with huge sound and great song-writing … what’s not to like.

The security sucked tonight though and for the first time I was ready to “punch” someone for not knowing how to do their job and interfering with all of us doing ours. Aaaaaarrrrggggghhh. Haha.

Was amazing, will post a few more when I can after they are approved.

08 July 2010 – A few weeks back I shot a few portraits with the amazingly talented Dallas Green for an interview on he was doing on his solo project, City and Colour.

Dallas is one of my favourite artists and is also a big part of Alexisonfire so I was really excited to sit down with him for a bit and work with him. He was super nice and we spoke about skateboarding and it was a really big pleasure for me to work with him.

The portraits I shot were purposely kept simple because of the nature of this project and I really think that they came out the way I hoped they would. These are 3 of my favourites.

15 October 2009 – Tonight a lucky few of us were treated to something really special thanks to the guys from Anti-Flag as they rocked the sounds of the legendary band, The Clash.

I need to immediately say that these photos are not an example of my work but rather just a bunch of images for me to document an awesome moment in time. Basically, the guys played an intimate set of covers in the Eastpak store in Carnaby Street and because it was just in the store, there really was no special lighting or smoke or anything to really make the photographs interesting. Quite some time ago I downloaded the free application called Poladroid and haven’t really had any chance to use it and thought that it might be quite fitting for this night just because I wanted to post something about it.

The band did an amazing job considering the greatness that they were covering and it was amazing how they managed to make the songs their own and my highlight had to be when George Pettit of Alexisonfire stepped up to the mic to sing along. This is really what music is about. Good times and good memories.

I have always been a fan of all three bands so for me this was really special and I definitely have a greater appreciation for them all for shaping music to what it is today, for pushing causes that they believe in, for being down to earth, being passionate and for making music that makes for a perfect soundtrack as I live my life.

Tonight was a good night.

11 June 2009 – Alexisonfire played three really intimate and small shows at The Borderline in Soho and tonight was the last night of the 3 shows.

I went along to watch one of the best shows of my life but for different reasons to normal. These guys had almost too much energy for this small venue and the crowd went crazy in response to the show that they put on. I remember shooting with these guys just over two years ago and then I didn’t really enjoy the show much so I wasn’t expecting anything this time but they blew my perception right out of the water. This time they were incredible and I really felt what they were doing.

Their new album (Old Crows / Young Cardinals) comes out on 23 June 2009 and from what I have heard so far it is going to be a definite album to look out for. They have been given a lot of bad press because it’s been said that they have lost their screamo style but I find their new stuff a lot easier for me to relate to and I really like it. I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy as it hits shelves.

Anyway, the venue was insane, PACKED full, REALLY low and SUPER dark and it was impossible to move around and I didn’t want to get trapped so I shot some photographs standing on a table to stage right. Luckily I had the use of my D3 because I could push the ISO level up allowing me to actually get some photographs.
