Face to Face at Brixton Academy

18 April 2010 – Tonight I photographed Face to Face live at Brixton Academy which was one of the most special nights I have had in a long time.

Back about 16 years ago a friend of mine copied their Big Choice album for me on to a crappy stretched cassette tape and I was immediately grabbed by their catchy lyrics and for the first time in my life I began to explore what the lyrics were and what they meant to me. That album changed me and began shaping the person that I am now. The band called it quits with an AMAZING farewell show in 2004 which was really depressing because I had never gotten the chance to see them live …. until tonight.

The set was old but perfect and the guys really played as good as I thought that they would, much faster than any of the recorded material and it brought back so many old memories that no one will be able to take away. The lighting was really crap (ALL red, blue or green) but I didn’t care because I just enjoyed the show, however I wanted to post a few so these are the small few that just missed the delete.

Setlist: A-OK, Struggle, I Won’t Lie Down, Disconnected, Bill O Goods, Ordinary, Blind, You Lied, You’ve Done Nothing, Pastel, I Want, I’m Trying, It’s Not Over

Bummed they not using Matchless Amps anymore, but like you said, they weren’t the headliners so there is still hope…

    awesome photos, awesome memories…
